1. ALSO

- Almost everyone learning German uses the adverb also. Also is used to introduce a consequence of the event mentioned previously, for example:

Ich kann nicht Tennis spielen, weil es regnet. Also bleibe ich zu Hause.

(I cannot play tennis because it is raining. So, I am staying at home.)

Sie ist krank, also bleibt sie zuhause.

(She is sick, so she stays at home.)

2. SOMIT

- The adverb somit is used to draw a conclusion or summarize statements. For example:

Auf dem Platz stehen 3 Mädchen und 2 Jungen. Somit stehen 5 Personen auf dem Platz.

(There are 3 girls and 2 boys on the square. Therefore, there are 5 people on the square.)

Peter hatte keinen Führerschein, somit musste Sam den Wagen fahren.

(Peter did not have a driver's license, so Sam had to drive the car.)

3. DEMNACH und DANACH

- The adverb demnach can also be used to describe consequences. For example:

Mein Mann hat dieses Gerät repariert. Demnach müsste es jetzt funktionieren.

(My husband has repaired this machine. So, it should be working now.)

- Although the word danach is commonly used as a temporal adverb, it can also carry a meaning similar to a result adverb in cases describing a sequence of events. For example:

Die Mannschaft hat 2:1 gewonnen. Danach hat sie gute Chancen, Meister zu werden.

(The team won 2:1. After that/therefore, they have a good chance of becoming champions.)

4. FOLGLICH und INFOLGEDESSEN

- The adverbs folglich and infolgedessen can also be used to express the consequences of an action, for example:Jens wachte zu spät auf. Infolgedessen kam er zu spät zur Arbeit.

(Jens woke up too late. As a result, he was late for work.)
