How is A2 different from A1?
A1 teaches you to describe the present in simple sentences. A2 adds the past tense, ability and obligation, and longer sentences through conjunctions — you start telling a story rather than stating facts.
Does the Perfekt take haben or sein?
Most verbs take haben. Use sein with verbs of motion or change of state: gehen, fahren, kommen, aufstehen, werden, bleiben. Ich habe gegessen but Ich bin gefahren.
How much vocabulary does A2 need?
About 700 words on top of A1, so roughly 1,200 in total. At this level learn words inside sentences rather than as isolated pairs.
