1. What Brottin is

Brottin is a free platform for learning German. Most content is readable without an account; signing in matters only if you want to save progress, review schedules and marked work.

2. Free, with no paid tier

Brottin has no paid version, no subscription and no feature locked behind payment. Every lesson, exam and tool is open to everyone.

If you support the project through the in-app QR code, that is a voluntary donation. It buys no features, creates no entitlement and is not refundable.

3. Your account

You can sign in with Google, with a one-time code sent to your email, or with an email and password. Passwords are stored hashed; we cannot see yours.

Keep your account secure. Do not share access, impersonate anyone, or use Brottin unlawfully.

4. Content you create

Your notes, vocabulary sets, written work and community posts remain yours. You allow Brottin to store and display them where the feature requires it — for example a set you choose to share publicly.

Community posts may be moderated or removed if they are unlawful or harmful.

5. AI features

Writing feedback, pronunciation scoring, vocabulary generation and chat use third-party language models. What you submit to those features is sent to the model provider to be processed.

AI output can be wrong. Do not treat it as a substitute for a teacher or as a prediction of a real exam result.

6. Learning content and rights

Part of the reading library is public-domain work. Content written for Brottin, along with the design and the code, belongs to Brottin.

You may use the content to study. Do not bulk-copy, scrape or republish it.

7. Provided as-is

Brottin is a small free project. We try to keep it running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

We may change, pause or retire a feature when that is reasonably needed to maintain and develop the service.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself from the Profile page. That removes the account and the learning data attached to it, and cannot be undone.

9. Changes

If these terms change we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Brottin after that means you accept the new version.
